Dog/Puppy Foster Carer
Do you enjoy:
Knowing you’ve made a difference?
Caring for and enriching the lives of dogs?
Puppy slobber, long walks and unconditional love?
Then consider applying for the volunteer role of Dog Foster Carer. This role supports the refuge by providing temporary care in a home environment for either young litters of puppies or adult dogs.
We are always needing Dog Foster Carers. They must have secure fencing, be able to contain their foster animal/s on their property, provide transport to and from the refuge for vet checks, be able to meet the needs of young animals or adult dogs. Potential foster carers with existing pets will be considered. Pets must be dog friendly and used to living with other pets. Successful fostering requires a calm and social environment. A supervised dog-on-dog introduction is essential to confirm compatibility, ensuring safety, comfort, and harmony for both the resident animals and the foster dog or puppy.
All food, toys, beds and vet care is provided. Our Foster Care Coordinator and office team will also provide support as required.
Please note this is not an application to be a Kennel Volunteer onsite at SCARS. These roles are advertised separately.
