Celebrating 5 years of thrifting for a cause! Did you know that SCARS runs a twice-weekly op shop style market to help raise funds to support the cats and dogs in in crisis?
The SCARS Market first opened in 2021 ad now operates every Wednesday and Saturday 8.00am – 12.30pm at the Big Blue Shed on the corner of Sippy Creek Road and Parkyn Road, Tanawha. We accept EFTPOS and dogs are welcome inside the market gates.
Our dedicated Market Volunteer team have created a fantastic space filled with new and gently used items, kindly donated by the local community. Our Market is a great place to find a bargain.
You can find the following items:
Bric a Brac, collectables and Jewellery
Books, CDs, DVDs
Kitchen Items – Glassware, crockery, pots and pans etc. - new and used
Pet items - beds, leads, bowls
Kids toys, puzzles, games
Garden tools, plants, pots
Small furniture
So much more!
Donating items to the Market
The Market is always looking for good quality donations of the items listed above. Donate your new and gently used items to the SCARS office (Tuesday - Sunday 10am - 5pm) or directly to the Market during opening hours.
Please note that there are some items we cannot accept for our Market. These include donations of clothing, used electrical items (brand new in the box is okay), large furniture as well as broken and heavily soiled items. We appreciate donors avoid dropping these items off as it cost time and more to sort and dispose of them.
If you are interested in helping as a volunteer or by donating items, please contact SCARS on 07 5494 5275
